Tales for Sale!

I have a couple of stories laying around that no one save a handful of beta readers have ever read (and one that was part of a collaborative novel, a few years back). Rather than try to submit them places and harvest rejections, I’ve decided to throw my hat into the self-publishing ring! My goal, here, is to see if I can generate about $100 in sales, this week. That’s probably not much to most folks, but not only would it help me out, it would be somewhere close to what these stories might have earned the traditional way. If I earn a bit more . . . well, it’s a win-win.

So, what are you offering, shopkeep?

I have two novellas and a short story (plus some bonus material), all between 13K and 16K words. They’re available in the following formats: epub, mobi, or pdf. I’ve decided to make them available individually. And they’re going to be priced at $5.00 USD, each. Below, I’ll post the covers, a brief description, and the Paypal link. If you’re interested, be sure to tell me which format you’ll want. And, I’ll email it to you. Seems easy, no?

Xenia in the Court of the Winds

This was my offering for the Sea of Sorrow collaborative novel. It’s a fresh take on the myth of the Cyclops, envisioning him as an historical figure who got the crap-end of the stick rather than a mythological creature. And, it features a rather despicable Odysseus . . .

It clocks in at a respectable 16,120 words, and contains some of my most beautiful prose (IMO).

The price is $5.00 USD and be sure to check your Paypal email for the files (or, provide your preferred email address either as a comment or drop me a line at scottoden (at) gmail (dot) com).

The White Lion

This is a new novella, unseen by any save my circle of beta readers. It’s a tale of spies and secretive agents, set against the backdrop of the fading days of the Kingdom of Heaven, war-torn Acre.

It’s 14,282 words of adrenaline-fueled action, with flashing swords and double-crosses galore. Here are the links for ordering The White Lion:

Grimnir: Beasts of Waste and Desolation

This one might be of particular interest for fans of the blog. It’s an Orctober surprise! “Beasts of Waste and Desolation” is a short story from Grimnir’s wandering days. It’s a bit under 5K words, BUT . . . it’s paired with a sneak-peek at the forthcoming Grimnir novel, The Doom of Odin!

All told, we’re looking at 13,772 words of snarling, spitting action featuring our favorite historical orc. Here are the links for ordering Grimnir: Beasts of Waste and Desolation:

There we go! A handful of tales — some never before seen — ready to woo you, Gentle Readers. I might expand this experiment if it goes well. Who knows?

So, what if I’ve read them all but I still want to toss a coin to my Witcher? This, then, is just the link to my paypal. And you’d have my undying gratitude.

Here’s an alternative to using Paypal: my Ko-fi page! Just drop in the amount ($5, $10, $15) and let me know in a comment what file type and where to send it! The miracles of modern capitalism never cease to amaze . . .

  1. Hi, Scott.

I ordered all three but didn’t see a place to specify which format. I’d like epub please. And I love the covers.

    Thanks,

    Keith West

    1. Thank you! Coming right up! In retrospect, I should have made three sets of links for each one to avoid confusion 🙂

  2. I ordered all three. I didn’t see a place to specify format. I’d prefer PDF. I don’t even know what the other two formats are for or if my computer can read them. But I know I can open a pdf!

  3. If you just purchased a mobi version of The White Lion under “Antique Alter Ego”, I’m going to need a good email address. Thanks!
